A Very English Sporting Weekend

We managed to get tickets to No. 1 Court at Wimbledon through the public ballot for the final Friday, to see the ladies' doubles and mixed doubles semifinals. It was a lovely day to be at the tennis and to enjoy everything Wimbledon had to offer, including the alert ball kids, beautifully manicured lawns and a stint out on Murray Mount to watch Andy Murray (lose) to Rafael Nadal in the semifinal. The Mount was packed solid - hardly room to breathe!

We backed up our sporting weekend the next day with a train ride out to Henley for the Henley Royal Regatta. I'd been to the members' enclosure about 9 years ago but this time Amber had arranged for a double picnic plot for about 25 of us, adjoining the course at about the 1000m mark - complete with a huge spread and deck chairs for lounging in the sun...
the frenzied pace of the day proving too much for some...
